Salt Green – Displacement

Transitions Wall Painting. A pigment known in medieval wall painting as salt green derived from copper minerals was sourced from a mine near Morvah in the parish of Zennor.  The Newlyn Gallery was the site for a performance over several days.  The colour first applied as a flat ground was gradually deconstructed mark by mark from one wall and relocated to another using a brush, leaving a trace-like mirror image in a panorama referencing the seascape that helped form the mineral. Newlyn Art Gallery, Cornwall 2008
